"Any Government that takes profit
before people is pure evil”... Suzy Kassem
Fire
On The Mountain!
By the time you have succeeded in
comparing the level of advancement of developed nations to that of Africa and
you do not have a culture shock mentality, you might not have the luxury of
time to congratulate yourself for being sane and being one of the lucky ones
who can even read this blog post, because the problem of comprehending the
mental picture has just very well started for you.
But do you know why though? Its because
you know that there is a huge collection of problems in our hands, which of
course directly and indirectly affects the entire world in general, and worst
still, there is a lot of hypocrisy, obscuring of truth of what is really
happening, lack of clarity of what occurs, and sabotage of solutions, if at all
there exists will power to solve the problems that abound in the first place,
safe to say there is a huge fire on the mountain top literally.
“If achieving
world peace and ending poverty were really genuine concerns of the majority,
then they would have happened already by now…Every problem on earth today has
more than one solution. However priorities are determined by values”…Suzy
Kassem
Power
to the people
The government is made up of the people by
the people and for the people, therefore the power belongs to the people, but
unfortunately some people with privilege feel and display superiority over the
same people they were in the trenches with and treat them like trash, thus
altering the eco system by violating an age long human code, upon which the
collective survival of the human race is dependent upon, and now there is
crisis and rancor virtually everywhere.
“People usually confuse leadership with
managerial skills”…Sylvain Neuvel
The
Sleeping Giant.
No doubt Africa is a sleeping giant,
slumbering so much that her environment caves in by the day while passers by
marvel at the massive free for all feasts they self help to by the minute.
“To sin by silence
when they should protest makes cowards of men”…Abraham Lincoln
A
Stone at the Market
In this world we all are connected and
indirectly related, that’s why a school of thought agrees with the notion that
everything goes into everything, and by implication when we hurt other people,
we indirectly hurt ourselves and vice versa. Yet we hurt ourselves by
prioritizing the good things for ourselves and leave the less privileged people
to suffer or even die for our mistakes or we sacrifice them so that we are
comfortable, but what if the tables were turned and they had the power to make
a choice, do you think they would throw us under the proverbial bus? A Yoruba
adage says ‘If you throw a stone at the market, it may hit your relative or
friend’ remember that we are all related though.
“The only thing
necessary for triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”…Edmund Burke
Oppressed
to the limit.
Now, coming down to earth, what is really
going on with us all, where is the love? We mortgage the future of our families
and friends for money or the company bottom line.
What is the government doing
about fake drugs and junk manufacturers that cause cancers, sugary products
that cause diabetes, addictive gadgets that depletes relationships, flawed
education that locks students in debts and whips their creative mentalities?
What is the government doing about illiteracy,
hunger and poverty of the mind of her people that deep in their hearts are
good? Does the government know that she shortchanges herself when she has
refused to provide basic amenities and supportive infrastructure for her people
in order for them to concentrate on their core competencies and use their
skills to in return support the government, make her proud, reduce crime and
even pay taxes and perform social responsibilities?
It is damaging to the fabric of the
mentality of the people to see privileged politicians ascribe to much
importance to wealth without integrity whilst they oppress the people who are
being abused by deprived law enforcers, robbed, raped, kidnapped, murdered
indiscriminately without any criminal being brought to book.
When the people lose faith in the
government of the day, then the leaders will surely have no legacy to leave
behind, and their names shall surely fade away with time.
