FLUIDITY OF HUMANITY...

FLUIDITY OF HUMANITY...

IMPENDING DOOM?

Trending now the world over is the dreaded EVD (Ebola Virus Disease). A condition which is thought to infect humans through interaction with fruit bats, monkeys and even bush meat. It is said to also be contracted through contact with human fluids of infected people, actually that's not the fluid we are here to talk about, in as much as it's under-estimation has continued to spiral a threatening ripple effect.

Honestly, I am quite often taken aback when it apparently seems as if I inherently tell doom prophesy, but it just so however happens that the tales we tell are our present reality,
although in as much as I would have much preferred that everything is good, we might not actually tell it, remember what they say "Bad news is good news" for the press.
Perhaps "Adaptation" will probably suit this scenario best.

The bitter truth that constantly haunts us is that violence is presently an everyday reality which brings sorrow to many homes as lives are being lost in the most gruesome ways.

Politicians cunningly manipulate citizens, Industrialists monopolize the market, Religious leaders preach their biographies, half baked educationists witchcraft our psychologies, we let corruption take the most of us and still destructively criticize the very products of the collective fabrics of our inventions, while the rest of the world is desperately and seemingly hopelessly searching for clues and direction.

A RAY OF HOPE...OR PERHAPS?

"If you get up one more time than you fall, you will make it through"...Chinese proverb

Linking proper management of time, money and quality to projects has given room for appreciation of standards, inspiring newer generations to raise the bar thus setting new records in general development, arts, sports and other deliverables, gracefully thrashing mediocrity.

Dialogue and co-operation between nations has driven partnership to whole new level, prompting international awareness to terrorism fueled by religious fanaticism and other obscure justifications, natural disasters glaringly including poverty and cash crunch.

OUR FLUIDITY

"The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire"...Ferdinand Foch

Interestingly, there have always been survivors, either because we naturally possess great strength, or its just that the whole world population is difficult to entirely annihilate.
There is an ancient saying which talks about humans being flexible and able to survive virtually any type of extreme circumstance especially when there exists the will power of a potentially dying man. This is because humans are like the fluid, no matter the direction a container is placed or positioned, fluid will always find its level, or we can say it maintains a constant point.

Did I mention we're survivors? oops, I mean it all comes with a huge price such as countless casualties, twisted thought patterns and fear. What are we surviving really? How sad can it be that its no more than our greed and insecurities...
Some people are still aggressively glued to the presumed overwhelming stereotype that "Life is perfect". I wouldn't actually criticize whichever party you belong on this, but the fact remains that we can have the opportunity to have a multidimensional view if we carefully glance through all available options to fully grasp the impending scenario.

"The imperfectness of man depicts God's superiority"...Unknown

Perhaps Life is as perfect as we can or cannot comprehend it, from its seeming simplicity due to its perceived commonness, to its probable complexity which constantly dwells and somehow duels mysteriously round and about us.

"To know the value of generousity, it is necessary to have suffered from the cold indifference of others"...Eugene Cloutier

Where is the love?

Image result for images of where is the loveThe Hit song 'Where is the love' by musical band Black Eyed Peas gave the now popular American band their big break after several years behind the musical scene. The success of the song can be largely attributed to the emotional and sentimentality of unbelievable absence of brotherly love so much that terrorism becomes a brainchild and organized crime of a bunch of insecure, misinformed and sadistic people. The song was apparently dedicated to victims of the 9/11 U.S. bombing which we all are directly or indirectly affected by.

This question has toppled us all off from our feet for as long as I can remember. Humans have the greatest degree of hate towards themselves, yet indiscriminately contrarily hypo criticize.
Humans are known to have caused the greatest magnitude of environmental and mental degradation through mining and exploration without genuine survey and consideration for long term sustainability of localities, terrorism, epidemics and recession due to high level conspiracies and propaganda.

"The capacity to care is the thing which gives life it's deepest meaning and significance"...Pablo

The Real Heroes

Truly, the best things in life are free. Look around you, how thankful can you be when you realize that you have never had to pay for the air you breathe, for free hugs, smiles, the beautiful view of the sky, and the Sun? Perhaps you pay for water because you cannot go all the way to the river, well that is understandable.

Anyway, despite the craze and rancor, some distinguished individuals have taken it upon themselves to constructively criticize the situation on ground, and have sacrificed their convenience only to take up the gauntlet for the down-trodden and those that cannot find their way, giving room for hope that indeed life is going to get better, and proving to us that we can be fluid to the point of our elasticity, and hopefully we won't break.

Thank You.

CRAZY YET AMAZING...

"My Psychiatrist told me i was crazy and i said i want a second opinion. He said okay, you're ugly too...Rodney Dangerfield.

I watched a movie called "Love don't cost a thing" featuring popular comic Nick Canon when i was growing up and he kind of exhibited a reflection of me, at least some part of me. Many of us could be clowns sometimes, especially when we are trying to impress people. make kids laugh or simply exude innocence, naivety or lack of bias, i think it has to come naturally though.

In the movie, Canon was a brilliant and focused kid who had a humble background, in fact he was so dedicated to his school project that people saw him as a crazy freak, guess what, even his parents feared for his fate, especially his kid sister who constantly pestered and haunted his shaky personalty.

"A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am i or are others crazy?

Anyway, his luck changed when he met a distressed girl who was way out of his league who also happened to have crashed her mother's car and had no money to fix it before she discovered it.

Canon offered to sacrifice all the money he saved for a dream project to help her fix her car on one condition that she'd pretend to date him in school. The long and short of it was, apparently it became a worthwhile gamble as Canon became popular and his freaky swag became not only recognized but also got adopted by the entire school.

"The truth is you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. Life is a crazy ride, and nothing is guaranteed...Eminem.

My point? amazing things happen when we follow through on our crazy ideas, you'll never really know where it'll lead you. I'm not giving a guaranty that you'll consistently succeed, but even when you fail, you'll fail forward if you have the right attitude. Of course the people friendly recommended one is the PMA (Positive Mental Attitude).

We need to see the world as beautiful, yes even the monkeys are beautiful in their mother's eyes.

But when you look around you in the world of today, it is filled with virtual madness, ranging from obsession with vanity, lack of brotherly love, greed, inferiority complex and insecurities to myopic government policies.

The truth is, life is probably perfect the way it is, full of challenges and uncertainties, forcing us to leave our comfort zones, and further forging us to be as great as we can be in proportion to our so called sickened environment, ridden with disasters and environmental degradation that has birthed the heroism in us. It really is crazy, but it is also equally amazing that we are not only survivors, but we are more than conquerors.

Thank you,

Akin Abimbola. (akinzogee@gmail.com)

SHALL WE PRAY?...

“Our prayers must mean something to us if they are to mean anything to God”…Malbie D. Babcock

Easy to relate to.

I love M.C. Hammer, well at least when I was growing up he was rival music icon only to Michael Jackson. M.C. Hammer’s song “We’ve got to pray” still stirs up emotion within me, not just because he was the rave of the moment, but also because he virtually erased the stereotype that rap song lovers had a thuggish outlook, rather they could make gospel music funkier and more attractive to everybody.

Obviously, we are all humans that live in a world of ups and downs. Sometimes we are in high spirits when things kick in the right direction, just as perfectly as we want it or even better. On the other hand, sometimes we become extremely gloomy, falling into bouts of emotional roller-coaster and become extremelyvulnerable to emotional terrorism when all our efforts end in disappointments.

“Pray as if everything depended on God and work as if everything depended upon man.”…Francis J. Spellman

What is Prayer?

The word ‘pray’ actually comes from the Latin word ‘precari’, which simply means to entreat or ask. Matt Slick of Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry puts it this way; Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is a place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. What does the Bible say about Prayer? Prayer is simply communicating with God – Listening and talking to him.

Prayer is almost synonymous with religion, because every religion practices prayer, only in different ways, so apparently prayer is what they all have in common.

Religion Overview.

Scott Berkun describes history of religion cheerfully thus;

“I have a fascination with religious history. It’s a fantastic lens on the history of civilization. I’ve never had much faith, but the history of it, and the details of various scriptures have held me fascinated for years. The way the roots of all religions wind together mythology, history, culture, selfishness, compassion, wisdom and ignorance is an amazing way to understand our species”’

Religion (from the latin Religio, meaning ‘restraint’, or Relegere, according to Cicero, meaning ‘to repeat, to read again’, or, most likely, Religionem, to show respect for what is sacred) is an organized system of beliefs and practices revolving around, or leading to, a transcendent spiritual experience. There is no culture recorded in human history which has not practiced some form of religion.

Religion (which, in ancient times, is indistinguishable from mythology) concerns itself with the spiritual aspect of the human condition.

“Work as if you were to live a hundred years. Pray as if you were to die tomorrow”…Benjamin Franklin

The main Idea.

It has become very evident that the prevailing economic conditions and revolutions have forced many a men perhaps with feeble minds to concentrate only on religion and prayers to survive the passing phase rather than face the reality before us.While growing up, sometimes I would get lost in my secret and imaginary world of lucid fantasy, dreaming and wishing that I could get hold of things clearly beyond my grasp. Thanksgiving perhaps remains as much as ever to God that I thought aloud many a times, then my father would tell me that nothing comes free or cheaply, “You have to work hard for it” he’d say. He kept on reminding me that if I was hungry and wanted to eat, I had to get up to make the food.

“The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays”…Soren Kierkegaard

The world we live in now is filled with a lot of bitter, perhaps lazy or faithless mediocres that infect you with their misfortune if you hang around them often, And unfortunately, finding solace only in sentiments and prayers, neglecting the reality of hard work. Billions of people have become extremely delusional about religion so much that they want to carry people along a path which they themselves are quite unsure of. Of course I believe in miracles, well especially when I am the one performing it. Don’t get me wrong, how dare I compare myself to the higher beings, simply buying slippers for a homeless and shoeless kid is as big a miracle as they come.

“Prayer is not asking. It is longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart”…Mahatma Gandhi

The point here really is, too many people in the name of God have misled people and have amassed enormous wealth at their expense, thereby depicting a tailored outlook of God. People actually pray for ridiculous things such as power and unnecessary material things.

Using Africa as a case study where poverty seriously exists, people have misplaced priorities and a whole lot of stigmatization fleecing upon their images giving them altered perception and inferiority complex. In the end though, considering the vulnerability of our very selves when struck by fatigue, confusion and possibly ill health and after all medical procedures have been met, we naturally curl up helplessly in a corner and surrender all of our being to the mysterious higher power, and pray we shall. Even that remains as much a mystery to the staunchest of realists.

“If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough”…Meister Eckhart
