AFTER SEX… WHAT NEXT?

“We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love”…Tom Robbins.

I was going to create a somewhat censor of the three letter word at first, but then I thought, embracing reality doesn’t only seduce people to level with you, it encourages them relate to you as well, so much for partnership gaining a new meaning.
How controversial can a word be?
Sex has been used to describe very numerously negative scenarios so much that it’s easiest attributes are of dirt, sin and even perhaps vaguely “death”.
It however appears more confusing than surprising especially for young minds how a seemingly uncontrollable natural chemical reaction which easily seduces one to release a great burst of energy can yet bear power potent enough to bring mankind to a halt, forcing man to fall to his knees in an instant
A school of thought teaches that in the earliest times, in the very historical story of the beautiful Garden of Eden, the forbidden fruit that was eaten by Adam and Eve was not actually consumed orally, rather there was a vigorous copulation between the duo. Thus summarising that the whole world is in this present predicament of turmoil because of a sex which shouldn’t have been had.

In the world of today, apart from the fact that sex has literally come to stay (Typically) at an alarming rate actually, the modern generation apparently are more open for business than ever before, remember “sex sells” in billions.

“Sex without love is as hollow and ridiculous as love without sex”…Hunter S. Thompson.

Biologically and obviously, sex was practically invented (There's got to be a better word) for man to procreate, and well, as well as for pleasurable co-existence between couples.
Today, sex is not as seemingly sacred it was treated long ago, it is now grossly abused so much that prostitution is one of the highest grossing revenues of all time, unfortunately though, beyond the bottom line is a huge price left for man to pay.
There are over twenty types of STDs one can get from sex, with the frontliner being HIV/AIDS causing millions of deaths each year.
Risks of more sexual predicaments including single parenting and child mortality has highly increased with the aftermath of youth freedom engaging in sexual experimentation. Also perhaps due to deprivation, disillussioned hundreds have been consumed by a dark and hurting negative stereotype of percieved sadistic pleasure derivable from rape, making rape a serious crime and one of the top 5 crimes of restless youths.
This unceremoniously brings us to the question “After sex, what next?” seriously. Yes there have been countless researches that justify the ‘fact’ that developed nations have been able to properly control indiscriminate sex, consisting of a massive build up of great sense of belonging and high self esteem among the citizenry, especilly through provision of social amenities and protection or rather non-interference with natural elements such as air and water which support life, in high standard at that. The envirenment both physical and virtual are sort of stable and predictable that one can plot his or her life trajectory assuming all factors are constant.

“Sex is an emotion in motion”…Mae West

Funds are also well managed especially to create adequate awareness, orientation and counselling as the case may be. So much for carefree corruption in the so called ‘Developing Nations’.
The inability for third world countries to confront their problems head-on, also known as cowardice has birthed a whole lot of avoidable and hypocritical stigmas, restricting our potential joys to a minute and virtual box in our heads. The poverty stricken ones basically throw caution to the wind, careless due to the presence of insecurity, inferiority and uncertainty, resulting in high population of fatherless kids and exploding rate of diseases hardly well managed. To add salt to injury, the corruptible and visionless leaders also constantly rape the national treasury, making them so poor that all they have is money in a new world where content, character, opportunity and succession plan rings more bells than the Big Ben.
Even marriages have become controversial than ever as divorce rates on pie charts makes pies and pizzas look less attractive. Many couples are getting married for the wrong reasons such as sexual appeal, money, height, swag, seriously?
Unfortunately, the value system of the entire system whose root emanates from the nucleus known as the family mostly bears the blame, yet we fail to address the issues before our very eyes.
Fascinatingly, a start to rectify these issues are easy, simply by we being reminded of the truths we already know, “whatever you have to do, do it quickly, and do it well”, “Never give up”, “go the extra mile” etc…

“The difference between Love and sex is that sex relieves tension and love causes it”…Woody Allen.

Sex will always be a complex thing to deal with, there will always be prostitutes, rapists, paedophiles, sexual harrasment, fatherless children, STDs, broken marriages, not that I am a prophet of doom, but more like an advocate of reality, and the picture as we venture into the future might actually get less obscure when we like a soldier face the troubles, facts and battles before our very eyes. Girls are always looking for the perfect man, tall, dark, rich, romantic and bla bla bla, but they want to go dance all night at the club, dead drunk from incorrigible binge drinking and they seduce their boyfriends with sex thinking it’s a way to hold him down. Eventually the so called dream guy ditches them to marry a decent and possibly timid lady that can keep a home, take care of the kids and can be confided in.
After sex what next? Sex should just be an integral element of love and not an indulgent act by boys and girls.

FOR WANT OF OUR KIDS' FUTURE, AND THE BOTTOM LINE...

“Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate”…Anonymous.

Perhaps heartbreaking is the word best used to describe the aura that surrounds our old folks when they think loudly in reminiscence of the so called “good old days”. Back then they said there was less crime, there existed accountability, honesty, virtue, traditional hard work and very importantly respect.

People did not see a reason to be over-ambitious especially to great extents that it leads to the detriment of the less privileged, leaving them to your mercy, and yet you ignore. In recent decades, it seems as if a group of so called self exalting geniuses have finally figured out a short cut to success, with less discerning people forgetting the statutes passed down to us by our fathers, unfortunately the so called “short cut” makes the journey even longer and more infuriatingly frustrating.

Unfortunately though, with just a few decades later and you can easily link one hazard to a series of calculated events to make money especially in ways such that the populace is greatly exploited monetarily and physically, usually in terms of rights.

“For in much wisdom is much grief: And he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow”…Ecc1:18

It is beyond a stereotype that the world was made and beautifully so by our Omni-Potent God, but the mysteries consistently before our lofty eyes dare us to believe it as less of a fact. In case you run out of crazy and innovative ideas, check out the diverse feature of the animals in the wild kingdom.

Apparently, company’s EPS (Earning Per Share) also known as bottom line which determines a company’s overall profit have come to stay, and inadvertently so are manmade disasters.

For instance, with the advent of industry, London’s population was accustomed to seeing foggy, pollution laden air. In 1952 however, this pollution took a tragic turn. This winter, the weather was cold and the residents burned more coal in their fireplaces to alleviate the chill. The smoke laced with sulfur dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides and soot, and left London encased in black cloud of near total darkness and killed over 12, 000 people.

Also on March 24, 1989, the American oil tanker Exxon Valdez collided with the Bligh reef. This created an oil spill with far reaching consequences in the Prince William sound in Alaska. Over 11 million gallons of oil spilled over nearly 500 miles polluting the coastline. Over a quarter million birds were killed and countless other wildlife. Over 11, 000 people aided in the clean up process.

In Nigeria, many foreign companies have continually infringed upon employee rights, from paying peanuts to inadequate HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), staff maltreatment and casualization of workers. Strangely, the government is not doing anything about it, perhaps due to the popular selfish rush for wealth and material at all cost regardless of its effect on the population, it’s all about their bottom line.

“All amassing of wealth or hoarding of wealth above and beyond one’s legitimate needs is theft. There would be no occasion for theft and no thieves if there was a wise regulation of wealth and social justice”…Mahatma Gandhi.

Juvenile crimes have increased exponentially in recent years; more ladies have taken up prostitution business, unemployment rate has shot up, education is nothing to talk about, there is avoidable environmental degradation and corruption is at its all time high.

This is not doom prophesy rather it is the reality that gazes at our very eyes, it becomes more obvious that the future is bleak for the next generation when the so acclaimed leaders of the present generation apparently bring their greed and ignorance to the fore, without a clue on how to make the world a better place, or maybe they are pessimists.

In developed countries, life trajectories are been designed not to force kids on a recommended path, but to help guide them and give them ideas on how to journey through life successfully, and possibly allow them have initiatives to blaze their own trails with high sense of belonging, hope and faith especially in the future, but Nigerian youths having been made aware of current happenings internationally.

They do not have a choice but to constantly criticize an unresponsive government, tasking them on the way forward to celebrate and enrich the remaining lives. As it obviously is, it is like the government is trading the lives of the citizenry for mere bottom line which will eventually be embezzled, and we have devised a constructive approach to deal with it.

Thank you.

LEAVE GOD ALONE?

“Human beings should be held accountable. Leave God alone. He has enough problems.”…Elie Wiesel.

The Basics.

Hopefully it is safe for an adult to admit his or her jealousy of the lives of little kids, especially those whose parents know their value and make sacrifices to take good care of. There is this carefree, worriless and peaceful way about how they do, their innocence makes them unbelievably unaware of any harm that may be lurking around the corner, and their dreams soars higher than the heights eagles can attain.
Growing up then exposes them to realities that could streamline or crush their optimism and their fantasy world of unlimited possibilities, depending on the degree of their enthusiasm and the amount of information they have and that has grown within them in proportion to their faith and conviction.
The inability of most people to cross the line of success naturally makes them defensive, looking for alibis, excuses and possibly someone to pass the blame like a flaming torch or a lousy baton of a team that already lost a relay race.

“The welfare of people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants”…Albert Camus.

Seriously?

A school of thought authoritatively believes that there is a very high tendency that God is impressed with the world so far, concerning the initiative man has taken to improve it, making it more habitable. Although the inventions and the discoveries that has further fostered developments are as a result of divine inspiration and intervention.
Well, not surprisingly, another school of thought tells us that God is very displeased with how the existence of man has intensely negatively impacted the Earth, from sin to environmental degradation, Terrorism and most of all unremorseful blasphemy.
Evidently of course life is as mysterious as they come, just for the sake of the proof of logic and higher knowledge have scientists virtually succeeded in coining a name and definition for every possible thing, scenario and occurrence that consistently riddles the world through and through. Only inquisitive people however have the capacity to exhaust their hypothetical justifications to the point where they reluctantly admit the vagueness they perceive of their findings and ultimately the future.

Principles.

After carefully researching and utilizing the guiding principles such as gravity, leverage and human attitudes that govern the Earth, we eventually blame God when things do not pan out as we anticipated in the first place. For instance, when natural disasters such as earthquakes, cyclones and tsunamis occur different classes of people appear to the thought fore like agents of criticisms of varying dimensions. A group will start to pray, well it is a colossal occurrence for us to have it inculcated in us to be well aware that there exists a higher being we are answerable to, another faction does a research to diagnose or and perhaps justifies the happening, and naturally there always exist a group that criticizes and even condemn the act which they never had any control over.

“It was the experience of mystery-even if mixed with fear that engendered religion”…Albert Einstein.

The Reality.

It is definitely obscure and also very controversial to call natural disasters an act of God, but scientists have an explanation for them as usual. For example, Earthquakes are caused by faulting, a sudden lateral or vertical movement of rock along a rupture (break) surface. Volcanoes are caused when the upper mantle of the Earth or lower crust melts magma forms; a volcano is essentially a vent through which this magma and dissolved gasses it contains are discharged. So this further keeps us asking funny questions like, can we blame God for a very sunny day which becomes too bright that it burns our eyes, or for the rain that falls so hard and floods unleash?
It is then so crucial for us to gladly adopt optimism in embracing the world as it comes or as it is. Defying gravity by inventing the Airplane, processing our foods to stay healthy, training doctors to save our lives, making shoes to protect our feet and so on. About the sun, some innovative people use its source for solar power, the water from the heavy rainfall is channeled to the right place to further hydro-power, and we can reduce the flood effect by making standard drainages.
The world is a great place due to the efforts of our forefathers, and yet it is about to be a lot better due to our new findings, so in the wake of new realities however, it appears to be imperative that we leave God alone and face the truth before our own very eyes.

Thank you very much,

Oh! Now I see...

“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen; Not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else”…C.S.Lewis.

Who’s There?

There was this old man named Balo who had apparently been all by himself for as long as I can remember. Balo was not privileged with the luxury of sight, though he stood out regardless.
Incredibly, he was an independent person who neglected all odds and negativity going ahead to achieve virtually anything he desired. Of course the tortuous experience he must have passed through is best left to imagination. He could tell when it would rain, knew when a car was coming, perhaps could perceive if someone lied to him, would easily recognize the voice of a long time casual acquaintance and could even in some way tell the time.
He single handedly did his laundry, prepared his meals, went to work and also did so much more that would make one doubt he’s blind.
Then one day, as you would expect, something amazing happened, so astonishing that perhaps his sight restored.

“I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand”…Confucius.

In Principle.
It is has been scientifically and medically proven that people without sight develop the prowess of their remaining senses to the highest level so much that their sight becomes relatively overlooked.
As imperative as the sense of sight is, its magnificence glows like a light in the dark with the complementarities of the other senses. The collaboration of the senses of touch, smell, hearing and taste team up with sight to bring the human intellectual awareness to the highest pedestal.

“Now I see the secret of making the best person; It is to grow in the open air and to eat and sleep with the Earth”…Walt Whitman.

Relating To Reality.

The unison of the senses further proves or rather justifies co-operation and division of labour to be important and integral elements for both survival and achieving excellence. In the awakening of the new realization of the power of systems especially in accountable organizations, from as big as countries to as seemingly trivial as our everyday personal lives, the successes of establishments have become obviously predictable.
Corruption, terrorism, poverty, illiteracy and the likes are our curses because we in some perhaps vague ways have voluntarily opted for them as a short cut option, which has not only boomeranged back at us, but whose impact seems to reverberate sternly with indirectly proportionate consequences so much as to shake the earth violently to her very core.
“What’s going on?” as Legendary Marvin Gaye asked in his song where he seemingly wailed to inquire what was really wrong with such a beautiful world yet filled with unwarranted hate, killings, propagandas, conspiracy and the likes. In the prevalence advent of racism, prejudiced indictments and shameless celebration of mediocrity, we obviously are too blind to see that we only constantly hurt ourselves as what goes around comes around. It is however unbelievable that a group of privileged elites have exploited the system to empower themselves at the expense of the majority, amassing untold wealth for themselves thereby wasting resources according to the vulnerability of their self concept, and ultimately altering the “Eco-System’.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world”…Mahatma Gandhi.

Legendary music legends like Ray Charles (Of blessed memory) and Stevie Wonder did not have the sense of sight to boast of, but they made up for their so called deficiencies not just by making huge successes out of their singing talents, but also proving to the world that there are actually no excuses or alibis that should deprive us from maximizing our potentials. It is all about faith, courage and initiative.
In the real world, well literally, most of us cannot see, rather we just look and thereby incidentally miss the important stuff. We are uneasy, and so are our eyes, so much that we fail to realize that our nose is right under our very nose.
Maybe it is just the “rat race” that both keeps us on our toes and also restricts us to our comfort zones, tying our thoughts in the isolated box of negatively stereotyped existence and baseless fear.

“The more I see the less I know for sure”…John Lennon.

Blind Balo’s Story (Cont.).

As blind Balo walked gracefully past a grocery store unaided, perhaps due to the increased proficiency of his hearing, he heard a loud and exciting sigh from a kid close by.
As Balo promptly and gently inquired of the kid what fared in the vicinity that spurred so loud an exclamation that he could hear it clearly beyond his ears but also with his heart. Gladly the kid while still gazing at whatever amazed his youthful soul said;

“Can you not see it sir? The sky sprawls in the most wonderful shade of blue, while the puffy clouds decorates it with splendid gait shading the Sun, the rainbow adds colour of unbelievable high contrast as if to form a roller coaster for the happily singing birds to grace, “indeed” reiterated the young lad, “life is beautiful”.
“Oh” replied blind Balo, heaving a sigh of relief and the tone of a contented old man, “Now I see”…
