NAIJA... AND THE PIT...

“Pride is born as a mountaintop on a valley, but dies as an abyss in which it is too deep and too dark to see the better"...Criss Jami (1987 - ) American poet, essayist and philosopher.

Happening Now!

Currently, our brains are overwhelmed with countless adverts, theories, worries and massive anxieties reaching their all time highs, and no doubt also that we live in a fast paced world, jet age as they call it, but what’s the rush by the way?

The race to add more sustainable value to the bottom line of fortune 500 companies at whatever cost is driving the whole world crazy, which seems pretty normal especially when you see the positive impacts of their products in our lives despite the ever exploding population, but wouldn’t it be pleasant if we still stayed sane and humane while we are at it?

“Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction ”… Erich Fromm (1900 - 1980) German born American social psychologist

Look Out!

No doubt we are constantly at war with our very selves already, but its escalation to other territories knowing full well that the background ulterior motives are as clandestine as can be is a much cause for worry.
Nigeria has an embarrassing reputation for corruption both inside and outside the country, incredibly, this singular act has reverberated quite resoundingly through countless generations, causing numerous negative ripple effects upon her population and all others that come in contact with her beautiful people.

Knowledge is power as they say, this text inspires one to willfully become an advocate of education, enlightenment, exposure and emotional intelligence, allowing us have a light bulb moment, which brings us to the imperative realization that the reason why the western worlds seem more sane and are high in achievement is because they obtained knowledge to the realization that truth, transparency, co-operation and adventure all have their great perks.

In Africa, the leaders that are actually meant to serve the people simply don’t care about their welfare, rather, they amass wealth and then waste the riches on mundane things, instead of empowering the people and then earn more respect. The extremes is that they indirectly pit the people against each other, which would have being entirely unnecessary.

“Personality is the glitter that sends your little gleam across the footlights and the orchestra pit into the black space where the audience is ”… Mae West (1893 - 1980) American actress and playwright.

Faith in the future

Being an advocate of principles, truth and enlightenment, the visible solution is for the young people of this country to seek knowledge at all cost, and to genuinely teach themselves to be positive in order to understand the importance of emotional intelligence.
We need to burst the myth of entitlement being handed over to us, rather, we need to be bold, have faith, and make up our own minds to take over through knowledge and forgiveness devoid of being needlessly judgmental towards ourselves, as division amongst ourselves is the last thing we need.

We should be forward thinking in all aspects of our lives and the economy. We need to teach the unions what to fight for beyond minimum wage and fuel subsidy, when foreign companies are enslaving our citizens, the politicians need to be more accountable with the funds put in their care, the police can be made better, Nigeria has no good roads, hospitals, schools and complimentary educational systems designed for Nigerians recognizing our peculiarity.
We need to be internationally competitive; we should have massive and well-funded research centers to support inventions and discoveries that we can patent ourselves.

Geniuses and handicapped people alike should be recognized, encouraged and supported. The citizens should have a platform to be big earners, not through unfair competition and hypocritical corruption that has only birthed insensitive rich people that owe government massive taxes and social responsibilities.

Surprisingly though, while the Gulf nations currently embrace real estate, tourism and Information technology as a diversification from oil, and other western countries are recycling dirt and powering up electric cars and other renewable energy sources, Nigerians are busy impoverishing themselves through corruption, hypocrisy, poverty and wickedness, practically enslaving their own people, without short nor long term plans. With the rate at which Nigeria is going, her youths may not be internationally competitive in the next decade or so.
The current youth must have faith and believe in themselves to be great by projecting into the future; we owe it to the next generation and beyond, else Africa will continue to be the wealthiest beggar, and there will be no legacy to leave behind.

God bless Nigeria, Africa, and the world!
