SIGHS OF AFRICA!

“Give it a try, for you are born to fly; don’t sit on the shores, don’t wait and sigh.  ”…Vikrmn

How did we get here?

If you would honestly rate the general progress of Africa on a scale of one to ten, what would it be? Your guess is as good as mine, it’d definitely score low, but unfortunately, same thing applies to the rest of the world, Africa just happens to snatch the first prize, or if you may, Africa finally wins gold at something, literally.

“If you don’t know where you’re coming from…then you don’t know where you’re going…” Terry Pratchett

History, in proportion to the present…

The whole world has apparently stigmatized Africa with poverty, diseases, illiteracy, corruption, lack of initiative and even evil, but how true are these allegations?

Although history tells us that the western world likes to wield a form of control over the rest of the world, that is why a massive chunk of the African population were taken as slaves to foreign lands to be maltreated as inhumanely as possible, yet the strength, heart and dexterity of the dark skinned race shone brightly like the midday’s sun. And when the mysterious glory could not be put out, various other strategies were employed to subdue them. From what we see, Africa is indeed plagued with the negative things mentioned above, but have Africans themselves truly realized the apparent anomaly as shortcomings and are they ready to turn a new leaf?

“…The past gives you an identity and the future holds the promise of salvation, of fulfillment of whatever form. Both are illusions.” Eckhart Tolle

Hello Future!

The future? How much more can we emphasize our neglect of the future, when we neither pay any attention to the present nor ascribe value to life itself?
No doubt Africa is seriously lagging behind, but there is a huge tendency that the best is yet to come, as in we are yet to see the worst of Africa if she continues to decline in morals, initiative, transparency and accountability. The so called leaders of the day owe it to the people to actually lead with selflessness and arrange a succession plan that will encourage or even rely on inclusiveness so as to tap into the strengths of everyone.

History should as a matter of fact and urgency be explicitly taught to the kids, so that their future can be clear as crystal. It should be taught that some turncoats amid the African fore fathers stood back to watch their brothers being forcefully dragged into slavery, because they amongst themselves allowed it to tarry, and today we can clearly see modern slavery encompass Africans.

The western world though smart with development and technological advancement, have indoctrinated Africa to work for them, while the elites in Africa further impoverish the already poor people for their own material gains, blinded by vanity they fail to realize that they only destroy themselves, wasting precious resources and obliterating their souls as they perish abruptly, never to be remembered as they have no legacy of character nor wealth to leave behind.
Africa indeed doth sigh, but I cannot tell if it’s a sigh of relief, but it sure is deep.

God bless Nigeria, Africa and the world!

Thank you, and be awesome because you truly are.
