AN AFRICAN MARVEL!

"The only man I envy is the one who has not yet been to Africa - For he has so much to look forward to”…Richard Mullin

Even The Movies Get It!

Do you love movies? I bet you do, although as for me, I don’t just love movies, my obsession is in another level, and that’s probably why I’m a MARVEL Studios’ fan (wink).
MARVEL has been able to bring our childhood cartoon memories and fantasies to life, and smiling to the bank in the process. MARVEL has succeeded in building an entertainment empire, creating lucid make-believes that are so surreal.

Only recently, they are taking a new direction, which has caught the whole world’s attention, they are fully bringing Africa into the picture.

“The darkest thing about Africa has been our ignorance of it ”…George Kimble

The African Image!

The “Black Panther” movie is one of the most anticipated action / superheroes’ movies of all time, and it won’t be surprising if it crashes box offices due to its almost perfect reviews. The amazing thing about it however is not just that the movie boasts of an all black (dark skinned) casting (Black lives matter-ish), it also puts Africa in the spotlight, a rare and risky move.
Spoiler Alert! The Black Panther movie comes in a critical time when Africa has apparently lost her way, especially in the wake of waves of corruption, blindness to the value of leadership, thirst for power and poor management in the midst of massive resources that can totally change the world. No doubt there are enemies and obstacles, but the movie teaches us that with love, inner-strength, courage, faith, heart, destiny and allies, we shall surely overcome.

“Africa has her mysteries, and even the wise man cannot understand them. But a wise man respects them ”…Miriam Makeba

Africa’s True Potential

If Africa weren’t truly blessed, the western world and even shrewd China wouldn’t be pitching their tents there in. Ghana has gold, Nigeria has oil, Liberia has got diamonds, Egypt has the Nile and other African countries have enormous resources that can keep the world going round for light-years to come, and that’s why Africa is relevant to the rest of the world even if the western world try to blur her possibilities, cheapen her artifacts, disrespect her culture, expel her heritage and detest her colour.

“Africa is poor because her investors and creditors are unspeakably rich”…Naomi Klein

Perhaps Black Panther movie was infused into the MARVEL cinematic universe for the sake of inclusion of the African people and their cultures, but maybe all that doesn’t really matter so far the message has been apparently and inadvertently passed unto the hearts of the remainder of the planet, that Africa is not only full of massive prospects, she is also self-sufficient and Africans carry good hearts in their chests, another valuable resource the world desperately needs.
The time for Africa is now, well it has always been known that Africans are a unique people, but perhaps Africans think they need a confirmation and constant reminders before ignoring stereotypes and breaking off the trance of a blinding dogma.

God bless Nigeria, Africa, and the world!

Thank you, and be awesome because you truly are.
